Siliguri, 16th November: The Special Task Force recovered a large quantity of illegal cough syrup, on Monday. One person identified as Subhash Singh of the East Medinipur area was arrested in the incident.
Reportedly, the STF, acting on a tip-off, detained a truck in the Fulbari Ghoshpukur Bypass area and recovered 30,000 bottles of illegal cough syrup. The owner as well as the driver of the truck was arrested in the incident.
According to STF sources, the recovered narcotics worth 60 lakh rupees was being transported from Dalkhola to Tripura. Singh was later handed over to the NJP police and was sent to Jalpaiguri court today.
