Siliguri, 20th June: The investigation into the Rangapani train accident has commenced, with statements from 10 individuals recorded before the Commissioner of Railway Safety. On Thursday, six railway employees provided their statements.
During a press conference on Thursday, DRM Surendra Kumar of Katihar Division announced that the inquiry is underway. He mentioned that the statements of all railway employees working between Rangapani and the accident site would be taken. He added that, previously, the goods train driver was considered responsible, but current investigations have placed everyone under suspicion, with no clear indication of fault yet.
DRM Surendra Kumar emphasized that it will take time to determine the exact cause of the accident, but assured that the Commissioner of Railway Safety will conduct a thorough investigation to uncover the truth.
