State Law Minister Moloy Ghatak assures new court building in Siliguri

Siliguri, 05th March: A new court building will soon be constructed in Siliguri, West Bengal Law Minister Moloy Ghatak said on Thursday after holding a meeting with lawyers at the Siliguri court premises.

During the visit, the minister held discussions with members of the Bar Association regarding various issues and long-standing demands of the legal fraternity.

Lawyers in Siliguri had been demanding the construction of a new court building for a long time to address space and infrastructure constraints. In response to the demand, the law minister first visited the Bar Association and interacted with the advocates, listening to their concerns in detail.

Speaking to the media later, Ghatak said that there are plans to construct a 10-storey court building in Siliguri.

However, he added that approval from the High Court is required before construction work can begin. According to the minister, nearly 80 percent of the procedural work has already been completed, and construction will start soon after the High Court grants its approval.
