SSB foils cattle smuggling bid at India-Nepal Border in Naxalbari, rescues 8 cows

Naxalbari, 27th May: A cattle smuggling attempt was foiled by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) along the India-Nepal border in the Choto Maniram area of Naxalbari. Eight cows were rescued as the smugglers tried to transport them across the Mechi River into Nepal under the cover of darkness.

According to SSB sources, the incident occurred late Monday night when patrolling jawans detected suspicious movement along the border. As they moved to intercept the smugglers, the latter fled into Nepal, abandoning the animals.

The SSB successfully rescued all eight cows from the site and handed them over to the Naxalbari police on Tuesday for further proceedings.
