Naxalbari, 14th January: On Tuesday morning, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle cattle from Nepal into India.
During a routine patrol in the Miya Basti area of Naxalbari, the SSB personnel noticed smugglers attempting to transport cows and goats into India. Upon spotting the SSB, the smugglers abandoned the animals and fled the scene.
The SSB personnel from the 41st Battalion Madanjote Camp rescued five cows and four goats. The recovered animals were handed over to the Naxalbari police for further action.
The SSB has been consistently monitoring the border to prevent smuggling activities. In the past, they have successfully intercepted various illegal goods, including Chinese garlic.
