Naxalbari, 14th September: A joint operation by the Naxalbari Police and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has successfully thwarted a cattle smuggling attempt.
On Friday night, the police received information about cattle smuggling activities along the Bagilram Jote route in Naxalbari. Upon arriving at the scene, the smugglers abandoned the cattle and fled. A total of 13 cattle were recovered by the police and have been sent to the Naxalbari cattle shelter.
In a separate operation, the SSB personnel from the Batallion stationed at Boro Maniram Jote seized 5 cattle that were being smuggled from Nepal into India. The smugglers fled upon spotting the SSB, leaving the cattle behind.
