Siliguri, 11th June: Srishti Foundation has stepped forward to help the sex workers amid the pandemic situation. The members of the organization distributed ration in the city’s red-light area.
Darjeeling District CMOH Pralay Acharya, member of North Bengal Covid Care Unit and Dean of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital Sandeep Sengupta were present at the programme. The CMOH lauded the initiative and said that the state health department has started vaccinating the sex workers.
Goutam Goswami, the president of the organization, said that the sex workers are in financial crisis amid the second wave of Coronavirus. Hence, such an initiative was taken. Pintu Ghosh, former councillor of Ward No. 07, also appreciated the initiative taken.
