Rajganj, 29th August: In a significant initiative, a newly formed ‘Special Women’s Police Force’ has been deployed in Rajganj to bolster the safety and protection of women and children. On Thursday morning, the force was seen patrolling the Bhutkir Hat area, signaling the start of its operations.
Rajganj police station has assigned seven female police personnel to this special unit, led by Mamata Tamang. The force will conduct regular patrols both day and night, focusing on key areas where women’s safety is a concern.
In addition to the patrolling efforts, a dedicated helpline number, 112, has been launched. Women can report complaints via this number, and the special police unit is committed to responding swiftly to any reports.
According to police sources, the creation of this force highlights the department’s commitment to enhancing women’s protection. The initiative has been well-received by the community, with many women expressing their appreciation for the increased security presence in important areas.
