Siliguri, 15th December: On the instructions of CM Mamata Banerjee to investigate the involvement of BLROs with land mafias, the Special Secretary of Land Department Abhijit Bhattacharya and Director Suraj Raut arrived at Siliguri. Following this, the officials investigated for hours in the Matigara BLRO office.
According to reports, Matigara BLRO Dipen Lama was also interrogated for a long time on land-related issues. In addition, the officials also examined several documents. Subsequently, the officials left the Matigara BLRO office.
Earlier, during Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s visit to North Bengal, the CM had instructed the Principal Secretary of the Land Department to initiate strict action against any irregularities. In response, Special Secretary of the department Abhijit Bhattacharya and Director Suraj Raut arrived at Siliguri from Nabanna and visited the Matigara BLRO office, accompanied by Siliguri SDLRO.
