Fulbari, 13th March: Central forces carried out special naka checking in Fulbari on Friday as part of heightened security measures ahead of the upcoming elections. Central forces have already been deployed across the state and route marches are being conducted in several Assembly areas.
To further strengthen security, special naka checking is being carried out at various important locations. On Friday, the checking drive was conducted by central forces at Murder More in the Fulbari area under Siliguri Metropolitan Police.
Personnel from the New Jalpaiguri police station along with jawans of the central forces jointly carried out the operation. Several vehicles, including small passenger vehicles passing through the area, were stopped and thoroughly checked.
Police sources said such strict surveillance and checking drives are being conducted to ensure that no untoward incident takes place in view of the elections.
