Siliguri, 26th August: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has launched a special campaign aimed at cleaning and maintaining the premises of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). The initiative, which began on August 23, is set to continue for 15 days.
On Monday, the Chairman of the Patient Welfare Association and Siliguri Mayor, Gautam Deb, visited NBMCH. As per reports, the campaign includes a focus on solid waste management, which will be handled by the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad.
Mayor Deb emphasized that while immediate cleaning efforts are underway, the real challenge lies in finding a long-term solution. He added that a meeting involving the District Magistrate (DM) and other concerned authorities will be held in the near future to discuss permanent measures.
