Jalpaiguri, 17th February: The son and daughter-in-law of a former police officer were critically injured after being hit by a reckless pickup van at Post Office More in Jalpaiguri, triggering tension in the area.
According to reports, the couple was returning home on a motorcycle on Monday night when a pickup van loaded with water drums suddenly left its designated route and entered another lane, leading to the accident. Eyewitnesses said the couple was thrown off the bike, and the motorcycle’s front wheel got stuck under the pickup van.
Both injured persons were admitted to a private hospital in serious condition. Police reached the spot after the incident, detained the driver, and seized the vehicle.
