Siliguri, 22nd November: In a shocking incident, two youths entered a house in the early morning and stole a woman’s gold chain before fleeing the scene. The robbery took place near the Siliguri Mahila Mahavidyalaya in Ward No. 23.
According to reports, the duo had initially gone to a nearby grocery store but found it closed. They then asked for various items from the store owner, Yuthika Saha. After purchasing several items, they entered her house and robbed her of her gold chain.
As the robbers attempted to flee, a local resident chased them in an attempt to capture one of them. However, the youths shoved the man aside and escaped on a scooter, leaving the area in panic.
The incident was immediately reported to the Siliguri police, who arrived at the scene and reviewed the CCTV footage from around the area as part of their investigation.
Meanwhile, Bablu Pal, a member of the Ward No. 23 committee, visited the location and expressed concern over the crime. He stated that a deputation would be submitted to local authorities to increase police surveillance in the area.
