Siliguri, 30th December: The newly constructed Platinum Jubilee Building and hall of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) were inaugurated on Tuesday. Mayor Gautam Deb inaugurated the Platinum Jubilee Building.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, the Municipal Commissioner, members of the Mayor-in-Council, councillors from various wards, and other municipal officials. The building and hall were inaugurated by cutting the ribbon and lighting lamps.
Equipped with modern facilities, the new hall will host important municipal meetings, board meetings, and discussion sessions. Immediately after the inauguration, the first board meeting was held in the new hall.
Mayor Gautam Deb said the new building and hall would make the administrative work of SMC more transparent, faster, and convenient for the public. He expressed hope that this infrastructure would play a key role in improving civic services.
