Siliguri, 02nd August: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has sustained its eviction campaign, targeting unauthorized occupations of streets and footpaths. The campaign, ongoing for several days, continued on Friday, covering the stretch from Hashmi Chowk (Venus More) to Court More in Siliguri.
Reportedly, during the operation, businesses that had occupied the road and footpath were removed, and several shops with extended tin structures encroaching on the road had their unauthorized extensions demolished. The footpath was cleared, ensuring unobstructed passage for pedestrians.
