Siliguri, 14th June: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) undertook a commendable initiative to preserve an old tree that was uprooted during a storm in the Pradhan Nagar area of Siliguri. The tree, estimated to be around 25 years old, was carefully re-planted as part of the SMC’s efforts to protect the city’s greenery.
According to reports, the tree was lifted with the assistance of a crane on Wednesday morning and subsequently relocated near the Mahananda River. This proactive step taken by the Municipal Corporation has garnered appreciation from the local residents who value the importance of preserving the environment.
