SMC takes initiatives to implement “Banglar Bari, Sopner Dishari” scheme

Siliguri, 23rd December: Siliguri Municipal Corporation has taken initiatives to implement the initiative “Banglar Bari, Sopner Dishari” through the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA).


The Bangla Bari project is a housing scheme launched by the government of West Bengal for the economically weaker section of the society. A discussion meeting on this subject was held at Baghajatin Park in Siliguri today. Officials of the SUDA project and members of the governing body of SMC were present.

Goutam Deb, Administrator of SMC BoA, said that the municipality has already included 1482 people in the facility. A total of 12 crore 74 lakh 99 thousand rupees has been spent on the project. He further added that more people will be included in the project in the future after providing land lease.
