Siliguri, 23rd July: Protective pieces of equipment were distributed among several Safai workers on behalf of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
It has been learned that raincoats, masks, and soaps were handed over to the cleaning workers of SMC’s PWD department at Rabindra Mancha of Siliguri Baghajatin Park. SMC administrator Goutam Deb handed over the protective equipment to around 70 people.
Goutam Deb said that the ‘Duare Sarkar’ programme will start soon. Swasthya Sathi scheme will be arranged for the temporary workers. Besides, health insurance of two lakh rupees is being provided for the permanent workers.
