Siliguri, 27th July: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has taken a proactive step towards aiding small businesspersons and hawkers in expanding their businesses by offering financial assistance in the form of loans. This initiative is expected to have a significant positive impact on numerous entrepreneurs in the area. The SMC has launched this program in collaboration with funding provided by the state government.
According to sources, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation will initially offer a loan amounting to Rs 10,000 to eligible vendor in the first phase. Upon successful repayment of this loan within a year, the SMC will extend the support further by providing Rs 20,000 in the second phase. Additionally, successful repayment of the second phase loan will qualify the applicants for a loan of Rs 50,000 in the third phase. The application process for these loans has already commenced, and interested vendor are actively applying for financial assistance at the Municipal Corporation.
