Siliguri, 04th May: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has intensified its crackdown on unauthorized constructions, with a recent demolition carried out in the Sarada Pally area of Ward No. 37 in Siliguri.
According to sources, an organization’s office within an apartment and the building’s parking lot were being unlawfully utilized for commercial activities, causing inconvenience to residents. Despite repeated notices from the municipal corporation to the building’s promoter, no action was taken. Consequently, the SMC proceeded to dismantle the illegal structures on Saturday.
To ensure a smooth operation and prevent any potential disturbances, a substantial police presence was deployed during the demolition process.
