SMC inaugurates ten water tankers to strengthen city’s water supply

Siliguri, 22nd April: In an effort to improve the city’s water supply system, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) inaugurated ten new water tankers, each with a capacity of 5,000 litres.


The inauguration ceremony was attended by Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, MMIC Dulal Dutta, Councillor Manik Dey, and other municipal officials.

As per SMC sources, eight of the tankers will be used to supply water across various areas of the city, while the remaining two will be deployed for watering plants.


This initiative is expected to boost the city’s water distribution capabilities and contribute to environmental upkeep by supporting plantation efforts.
