Siliguri, 02nd March: Despite the financial deprivation from the state government, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation has successfully conducted various developmental works. To prove it, Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya displayed the account book in public.
A civic meeting was held on Monday under the initiative of SMC at Siliguri’s Dinabandhu Mancha. Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya, Matigara Naxalbari MLA Shankar Malakar, Congress MLA Sunil Tirkey, Siliguri Sub-divisional council President Tapas Sarkar and the Councillors were present during the meeting.
Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya alleged that since 2015, the left-front board has suffered financial deprivation from the state government. However, the party continued carrying out developmental works. He further stated that if people bring them back to power in the future, they will continue more such works.
