Siliguri, 31st May: After Nandita, Rani, and Rony, residents of Siliguri Madhya Shantinagar, lost their mother recently due to COVID-19, SMC stepped forward to help them.
After the demise of their father Nanda Dulal Roy two years ago, the children were being looked after by their mother Rita Roy who used to work in a private company. She died on May 04 after contracting the COVID-19 infection. Upon learning about the matter, SMC administrator Goutam Deb met the three children and assured them to help.
Goutam Deb said that 2 thousand rupees will be provided to the children per month from the Chairman Relief Fund and he personally will give them one thousand rupees every month. In addition to this, five thousand rupees will be sent to their bank account today.
