Siliguri, 09th August: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has intensified its ongoing drive against encroachments. In a recent operation, the SMC demolished illegal constructions, including a structure built above a mall located on Sevoke Road under the jurisdiction of the Bhakti Nagar Police Station.
The SMC has been actively working to clear public roads and pathways from encroachments. Reportedly, the unauthorized construction on top of a mall was carried out without obtaining the necessary building plans. Upon receiving the information, the SMC workers initiated a demolition drive and dismantled the structure.
