Siliguri, 30th August: Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) administrator Goutam Deb held an emergency meeting with the officials of various departments regarding traffic problems, COVID vaccination and oxygen plants in the city. Transportation, health, and police officials were also present at the meeting.
Goutam Deb said that traffic congestion has been solved to some extent with the restriction of the unregistered e-rickshaw (Toto) movement. Nevertheless, the SMC and the police administration are continuously working to make the city completely free of traffic congestion. It has been decided to shift the bus stands inside the city to other places.
He also said that a permanent oxygen plant would be set up at the Siliguri District Hospital and North Bengal Medical College Hospital and that all citizens will be vaccinated soon.
