The West Bengal government has decided to extend the lockdown till June 15, 2021. During a press conference today at Nabanna, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced a few relaxations that have been allowed after careful consideration.
- Besides local trains, all public transport including buses, metros will be closed till May 30. Travel clearance is available only if you are associated with emergency services and online delivery. But even in that case e-pass is required.
- There is a complete ban on the movement of people or vehicles from 9 pm to 5 am except for the ones associated with emergency services.
- All schools, colleges, universities, government, and private offices closed except emergency services.
- Shopping malls, restaurants, bars, sports complexes, gyms, and swimming pools, parks, zoos, and sanctuaries will remain closed.
- Markets will remain open from 7 am to 10 am.
- Small retail shops to remain open from 12 noon to 3 pm; apart from the allotted 7 am to 10 am slot.
- Grain, grocery, meat shop, egg shop, bread, and milk shop will be open from 7 am to 10 am for the next 15 days.
- Sweet shops will be open from 10 am to 5 pm.
- Jewellery shop from 12 noon to 3 pm.
- Medicine shops and spectacle stores will be open all day.
- No vehicle can enter the state without food, medicine, and medical supplies.
- Prohibition on all kinds of gatherings.
- Tea garden with 50 percent workers and jute mill with 30 percent workers will be allowed to run.
- Lockdown restrictions do not apply to e-commerce and online delivery.
- Banks will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ATMs to be open all day.
- Petrol pumps, car repair shops, gas shops are allowed to operate the entire day.
- A maximum of 50 people can attend a wedding. A maximum of 20 people can be present at the funeral.
