Siliguri, 17th August: During a meeting with SJDA and Bidhan Market Vyavasayi Samithi on Monday, it has been decided that a demolition drive will be carried out by next Monday to remove illegal encroachment.
Reportedly, the meeting was attended by SJDA Chairman Vijay Chandra Barman, Siliguri SDO Sumanta Sahay, and other administrative officials.
In this context, Barman stated that the disobedience of government rules will not be tolerated in this regard. He further stated that if the demolition drive is not carried out soon, the administration will be bound to take necessary steps.
Chittaranjan Das, President of the Bidhan Market Vyavasayi Samithi stated that the committee is supportive of the decision taken by SJDA. The drive is likely to be conducted by Monday following all government instructions.
