Jalpaiguri, 14th October: SJDA chairman Vijay Chandra Barman has been admitted to hospital following a head injury.
According to family sources, Barman had been supervising the construction work at his house since morning. However, unable to bear the extreme heat, he fainted and fell from the terrace. Following this, he apparently lied unconscious for around 30 minutes.
After the matter came to light, he was rushed to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital and is currently undergoing treatment at the CCU. He has already undergone a CT scan on the advice of doctors.
His son Bikash Kali Barman said that Vijay Chandra Barman is currently stable, however, experiencing physical weakness.
