Jalpaiguri, 28th March: In view of the Coronavirus outbreak, the Chairman of the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority Vijay Chandra Barman allocated 10 lakh rupees to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He handed over the cheque to the District Magistrate.
Barman stated that a nation-wide lockdown has been announced to contain the spread of the virus. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to various associations for donating in the CM’s Relief Fund. In this regard, 10 lakh rupees has been allocated on behalf of SJDA.
Meanwhile, Jalpaiguri Lok Sabha MP Dr. Jayanta Kumar Roy handed over a cheque of 50 lakh rupees to the District Magistrate to deal with COVID-19 treatment.
