Rajganj, 17th November: Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb on Monday visited the family of the man who died amid SIR panic in Ambari. He was accompanied by Dabgram-Fulbari Zilla Parishad member Manisha Roy, Zilla Parishad member Ranbir Majumder, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed, Tushar Dutta and others.
It is to be noted that, Last Wednesday, the hanging body of Bhuban Chandra Roy from Kamarvita in Rajganj block was recovered a short distance from his home. According to the family, although enumeration forms were issued for all household members, the name of his daughter Shibani Roy was missing, which caused him deep anxiety. The family claims he died by suicide because his daughter’s name did not appear on the enumeration form.
On Monday, Mayor Gautam Deb met the grieving family at their home in Ambari. He offered condolences and enquired in detail about the situation surrounding the incident.
