Siliguri, 21st July: The Sanghashree Club of Siliguri has commenced preparations for Durga Puja with the customary ‘Khutti Puja’. The club is known for unveiling a new theme annually to mesmerize city dwellers. This year marks the 58th anniversary with the unique theme of “Thakabo nako baddha ghare dekhaba ebar jagattake”.
In this regard, Shyabal Dutta, the secretary of the Sanghashree Club, shared that modern society often confines the younger generation indoors. As a result, it hinders their development. Thus, the theme aims to encourage people to connect with nature. The entire setup will be environment-friendly, ensuring the idols don’t pollute water bodies during immersion.
The club plans to craft the deity’s idol using biodegradable materials to prevent water pollution after immersion.
