Siliguri’s Samar Nagar murder case takes new turn, family raises serious allegations

Siliguri, 11th February: The mysterious deaths of three, Shyamal Roy, his wife Tumpa Roy, and their son Pintu in the Samar Nagar Bazar area of Siliguri took a new turn one month after the incident. This is followed by allegations raised by the family members of the deceased Tumpa.

On the morning of January 15, the bodies of Shyamal Roy, his wife Tumpa, and their son were found in their home in the area under the Bhakti Nagar police station. Preliminary police investigations suggested that Shyamal, burdened by debt, had killed his wife and son before taking his own life.

However, Tumpa Roy’s family has now raised serious questions regarding the case. They claim that the landlord of the house and her younger son know the truth behind the murder. According to the family, Tumpa had an illicit relationship with the landlord’s son, and two weeks prior to the incident, he had borrowed ₹1.5 lakh from his mother.

The family has also questioned the police investigation, alleging that Tumpa’s mobile phone has still not been recovered and that the police are trying to cover the truth. Consequently, the family filed a complaint at the Bhakti Nagar police station and demanded an unbiased re-investigation into the case.
