Siliguri, 02nd February: Overcoming financial hardship and a prolonged personal struggle, Siliguri resident Saikat Guha has secured the sixth rank in the West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) examination, bringing pride to the city and the entire North Bengal region.
Saikat Guha, a resident of College Para in Siliguri, achieved the remarkable feat after facing severe financial difficulties and personal loss. On receiving the news of his success, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb visited his residence on Monday to congratulate him. Councillor Mili Sinha and MMIC Shobha Subba accompanied the mayor. Saikat was felicitated with flowers on the occasion.
Speaking to the media, Mayor Gautam Deb said that Saikat’s father had been a close friend and praised Saikat for achieving success despite adverse circumstances. He described the achievement as inspirational and expressed confidence that Saikat has a bright future ahead.
Sharing his experience, Saikat Guha said his success was the result of years of hardship and perseverance. He recalled losing both his father and brother, which pushed the family into financial distress. However, he did not lose hope and continued his preparation with determination and self-belief, which ultimately led to his success in the examination.
