Siliguri, 11th May: In a display of recognition and support, Mahima Pal from Siliguri was honored by Ashighar Outpost OC Prasenjit Dey Sarkar and Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Sikha Chatterjee. Mahima, a student at Hakim Para Girls’ School, secured the top position in her school with an impressive score of 466 marks in the Higher Secondary examinations despite financial constraints.
According to reports, Mahima’s mother worked as a day laborer in the absence of her father. On Friday, the news of Mahima’s success was prominently featured in Siliguri Times, drawing attention to her accomplishment. In response to this, OC Prasenjit Dey Sarkar accompanied by MLA Sikha Chatterjee visited Mahima’s residence in Telipara of Siliguri, extending his support and offering assistance. Meanwhile, Mahima and her family expressed their gratitude and happiness.
On this day, the MLA highlighted that none of the students from Siliguri made it onto the state’s merit list, making Mahima’s achievement all the more commendable.
