Siliguri, 14th October: Due to the lack of security guards, Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium premises has been turned into a car parking zone. Apart from this, complaints have been reported regarding various anti-social activities being carried out at night in the compound. As a result, pedestrians fear for their safety.
The locals alleged that small and big cars of doctors and local traders are regularly spotted parked in the stadium premises. Locals blamed the negligence of stadium authorities for the current situation.
In this context, stadium member Arup Ratan Ghosh said that several complaints regarding illegal car parking on the stadium premises have been received. He assured to report the matter to SJDA following which action is likely to be taken within a day or two. The issue of anti-social activities will be brought to the notice of the police administration and patrolling will be demanded inside the stadium.
