Siliguri’s Kabi Sukanta High School holds grand procession to mark silver jubilee year

Siliguri, 26th November: A vibrant procession was organised at Siliguri Junction Pati Colony’s Kabi Sukanta High School to celebrate its silver jubilee year, creating a festive mood across the area.


Students dressed as Subhas Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Birsa Munda, Bharat Mata and farmers, joined the procession. Popular cartoon characters were also present to encourage the children.

The event showcased the life, thoughts and contributions of poet Sukanta Bhattacharya. The procession started from the school premises, travelled through various routes and returned to the campus.


Headmaster Rishin Biswas, Siliguri Municipal Corporation Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, Councillor Nurul Islam, former Councillor Snigdha Hazra and other dignitaries attended.

Headmaster Biswas said the event highlighted the school’s heritage, celebrated Sukanta’s ideals and honoured former students, adding that such initiatives inspire students and strengthen their morale.
