Siliguri, 19th April: Ghogomali Girls’ High School located in Ward No. 36 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has been marked as ‘Model Booth’ for peaceful voting.
It is to be noted that the Election Commission has marked several booths as ‘Model Booths’ to convey the message of maintaining peace in elections and to promote voting.
Reportedly, the polling station of the school was decorated as model polling station while the entire school was decorated with pink balloons where voting was underway peacefully since Friday morning.
Significantly, voting took place in three parts of booth No. 19/13, 19/17, 19/18 where Central forces were also stationed.
In this regard, Ward Councillor Ranjan Sil Sharma stated that the polling has been going on in a peaceful manner since morning in the booth.
