Siliguri, 29th April: A significant development has occurred in the case of 17-year-old Rahul Das’s murder following the arrest of the accused friend in connection to the case. Reportedly, the young man was brutally killed by his friend after a heated argument over mobile games.
It is to be noted that on Sunday, Rahul Das, a resident of the Hatiadanga area adjacent to Siliguri, was called out of his home by his friends despite his mother’s objection. Upon returning from work, Rahul’s mother discovered that her son was missing. Later, the deceased body of the youth was found in a blood-stained condition behind a temple in the area.
Upon receiving the news, the police from the Ashighar Outpost and the Ambari Outpost arrived at the scene and recovered the body. The mother of the deceased filed a complaint alleging murder, prompting the Ambari outpost police to launch an investigation. Police investigation revealed that Rahul Das and his friend were caught in a disagreement over mobile games which escalated leading to his death.
Following further investigation, the accused friend was arrested on Sunday night. The accused minor friend is scheduled to appear in the juvenile court on Monday for legal proceedings.
