Siliguri, 11th March: A youth has been subjected to an attack in the Suryasen Colony of Siliguri.
According to the information received, two youths were travelling at a high speed on a motorcycle from the Suryasen Colony area, on Tuesday afternoon. It has been alleged that another youth, from the area, protested against the incident, after which, the rider and the pillion rider attacked the youth with a knife.
The accused individuals immediately tried to flee when they sighted people arriving at the scene. However, the locals caught the accused rider, identified as Saurabh Sarkar, while, the other accused managed to escape. The locals soon informed the police about the incident.
Upon receiving the news, the NJP Police reached the spot and arrested the accused. The injured youth was rushed to the Siliguri District Hospital. The accused was presented at the Jalpaiguri court, today.
