Siliguri, 31st May: A new bus stand is being constructed near Siliguri’s Tinbatti More, with several facilities including passengers’ accommodation, which will be functional before the Puja this year. In this regard, on Wednesday morning, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb and NBSTC Chairman Partha Pratim Roy visited the site and inquired about the work progress with the officials.
According to reports, the work for the first phase of the bus stand will be completed before the festival season. The new bus stand, which is being constructed on 2.4 acres of land, will operate 23 buses upon its completion. The local bus stand which is currently functional from Court More in Siliguri will be shifted to the new bus stand. In addition, local private buses will ply from the new bus stand along with NBSTC buses of selective routes.
