Siliguri, 08th April: Political tensions in Siliguri are rising ahead of the Assembly elections, as TMC candidate Gautam Deb met the district returning officer on Tuesday to file multiple complaints.
Deb reportedly visited the SDO office and raised concerns over the deliberate tearing and defacement of party posters and festoons across various parts of Siliguri. He alleged that these actions were being carried out with the intent to disturb the electoral environment and target opposition activities.
The candidate also claimed that outsiders were being brought in to create unrest in Siliguri, which he said could instill fear among voters and disrupt a free and fair election process. He urged the administration to investigate the matter seriously and take necessary action to ensure a peaceful and democratic election atmosphere.
