Siliguri, 28th May: The common people, from the past several days, have taken various precautionary measures to deal with the coronavirus outbreak. Meanwhile, the government has announced exemptions in several cases in the fourth phase of lockdown.
In this regard, multiple taxis have also started plying on the streets of Siliguri. The taxi drivers at Bagdogra Airport, on Wednesday, were spotted wrapping the driver’s seat with plastic for safety reasons.
Milan Sarkar, Joint Secretary of the Bagdogra Taxi Owners Association, stated that such an initiative has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the drivers. Hand sanitizers were provided to them and they have been asked to wear masks and hand gloves. Besides, all the passengers are being thoroughly disinfected before being allowed to board a taxi.
