Siliguri, 09th August: Under the auspices of the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA), Road No. 03 in the Shaktigarh area has been chosen for transformation into a “Model Road.” This initiative aims to enhance the local infrastructure for the convenience of residents. The proposed road revamp will incorporate features such as an open-air gym and a dedicated pedestrian pathway, ensuring maximum benefit to the community. The successful execution of this project is expected to pave the way for the development of similar routes throughout the city.
In this context, Sourav Chakraborty, the Chairman of SJDA, announced that Road No. 03 in Shaktigarh, located near Rabindra Manch, will undergo modernization, accompanied by the establishment of an open-air gym accessible to people of all age groups. He further emphasized the implementation of security measures to prevent the theft of gym equipment.
Chairman Chakraborty indicated that the work on the proposed project will commence shortly. Simultaneously, beautification efforts for Burdwan Road will also be undertaken. As part of these improvements, car parking and encroachments along the mentioned road will be prohibited to ensure a safer and more organized urban environment.
