Siliguri Seth Srilal Market trader tests positive for COVID-19

Siliguri, 06th June: A trader from Siliguri’s Seth Srilal Market tested positive for the novel coronavirus, which created a stir in the area.


According to the Municipal Corporation Health Department, the infected is a resident of the Eastern Bypass area and has no travel history. He was undergoing treatment at the Desun SARI Hospital, after showing COVID-19 symptoms. When his swab test was taken, the report came back positive today.

As per the report, the infected used to sell fish during the lockdown and so the administration is constantly trying to trace the ones who had come in contact with him. Khokan Bhattacharya, Secretary of the Seth Srilal Market Vyavsay Samiti, said that the aforementioned person had last come to the market on May 28. After the news of him being infected by the virus surfaced, it has been decided to shut down the shops as a precautionary measure. The market will be thoroughly sanitized.
