Siliguri Ramakrishna Mission Land Case: Two more members of KGF gang arrested

Siliguri, 25th May: The Bhakti Nagar Police have apprehended two additional suspects in connection with the attack and attempted capture of land belonging to the Ramakrishna Mission by a notorious land mafia. The arrested individuals have been identified as Manoj Ghosh and Shiva Paswan. Manoj was apprehended from NJP, while Shiva was arrested from Paswan Basti.

The incident, which occurred on May 19, saw an attempt by the land mafia to seize the land of the Ramakrishna Mission located in Salugara. Following the brazen attack, the state government faced criticism, with questions raised about the effectiveness of the police administration in handling such incidents.

In response to mounting pressure, the Bhakti Nagar police station swiftly arrested five members of the KGF group allegedly involved in the attack, four days after the incident. Subsequently, the suspects were brought before the court and remanded into custody. Efforts then intensified to locate and apprehend other absconding suspects linked to the main accused in the incident.

Furthering their investigation, the Bhakti Nagar police conducted a tip-off operation, leading to the arrest of two more members of the KGF group on Friday night, from NJP and Paswan Basti respectively. Both suspects were presented before the court on Saturday, where the police sought their remand for continued questioning and legal proceedings.
