Siliguri police to strengthen city security with street patrolling and new CCTV room: Commissioner C. Sudhakar

Siliguri, 01st August: In a significant move to enhance public safety, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police will now patrol every street in the city to prevent crime and curb criminal activities. This initiative comes as part of a larger effort to fortify the city’s security system ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.


Commissioner C. Sudhakar announced that the police force is taking these steps in response to recent criminal incidents reported in the city. The Siliguri Metropolitan Police is launching two new initiatives to ensure the safety of its residents.

Firstly, every police station will be required to conduct street-to-street patrols throughout the city. Secondly, a new CCTV room is being set up to monitor the entire city more effectively. Commissioner Sudhakar emphasized that these measures are aimed at creating a safer environment for the community during the festive season.
