Siliguri, 16th July: Starting today, a total lockdown has been imposed across the entire Siliguri region for 7 days as a containment measure.
Despite repeated reminders to stay home, several people are still being sighted in different parts of Siliguri, deliberately breaching the lockdown restrictions.
In this regard, a team of police personnel, since this morning, conducted Naka checking in various parts of the city and detained several lockdown violators. Strict legal action is likely to be taken against them.
According to police sources, such operations will continue regularly during the entire lockdown period.
