Siliguri, 28th April: After a surge in bike thefts in various areas under the jurisdiction of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police, a special team consisting of the SOG, DD, and undercover police from multiple stations was formed. This team was tasked with investigating the matter and after a thorough investigation, they managed to bust the gang of bike thieves within two days.
With the efforts of the police team, 12 stolen bikes were recovered from Chopra, and two individuals were arrested, one from Siliguri and the other from Chopra. The police have identified the accused and they will be produced in the Siliguri court tomorrow.
The bike theft menace had been increasing in the city, and the gang of thieves was active in different parts of the city, always looking for opportunities to steal bikes. However, with the successful bust of this gang, the police have taken a significant step towards curbing bike theft in the city. Further investigations into the matter have also been initiated.
