Siliguri, 26th January: The nation is celebrating its 76th Republic Day with enthusiasm, and the Siliguri Police Commissionerate joined in with a grand display of strength and solidarity. Several events were organized to mark the occasion, with Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar hoisting the national flag.
Following the flag hoisting, Commissioner Sudhakar inspected the parade, where he was saluted by the personnel. The parade featured various units, including the police, RAF, as well as NCC cadets from Siliguri College and several schools.
In a powerful display, the Commissionerate showcased a bulletproof VIP car, a secondary squad team, water tank, and various specialized vehicles. The event also focused on raising awareness on crucial social issues, such as preventing child marriage and human trafficking and educating the youth about staying away from drugs. Additionally, safety messages were conveyed through various tables, promoting the ‘Safe Drive Save Life’ initiative.
The event concluded with an exciting dog show, further adding to the festive spirit at the Police Commissionerate ground.
