Rajganj, 18th October: Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar inaugurated the Durga Puja guide map, along with the “Kavach” App, and new traffic signals and traffic booth in Gandar More. The event witnessed the presence of ADCP of Siliguri Metropolitan Police Shuvendra Kumar, DCP Jai Tudu, DCP Traffic Abhishek Gupta, ADCP Traffic Purnima Sherpa, and MLA Khageswar Roy accompanied by other police officers and representatives.
According to reports, for a long time, the locals have been demanding traffic signals at Gandar More on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway. On Wednesday, the Siliguri Police Commissioner undertook the initiative and inaugurated a traffic booth in the said area. Simultaneously, an app named “Kavach” was launched. In addition, a Durga Puja guide map was also released.
During the program, school bags were distributed to several local students, including new clothes to the people, reflector jackets distributed to drivers, helmets to bike riders, and uniforms to civic volunteers.
